Our Policy

PhillyHipHop.com only accepts reviews for artists who are currently located within our Coverage Area or are originally from our Coverage Area. As our name suggests, our sole focus is Hip Hop culture within the Greater Philadelphia Region.

PhillyHipHop.com reserves the right to review or not review, for any reason, any material sent to us.

PhillyHipHop.com reserves the right to refuse to review material or products for any reason it deems appropriate. The decision by PhillyHipHop.com to review or refuse to review a submission is final.

PhillyHipHop.com reserves the right to publish basic release information with no written review.

PhillyHipHop.com will not review material submitted on cassette tape, Mini Disc or DAT.

Material sent to PhillyHipHop.com for review becomes the property of Illadelph Entertainment Incorporated and will not be returned.

Only members of the editorial or executive staff may solicit review materials for publication in PhillyHipHop.com. Should independent authors solicit materials for review in PhillyHipHop.com, please contact Funk Wizard Snow, Editor at snow@phillyhiphop.com prior to submission.

Submitted materials are distributed to reviewers via the Editor based on publication criteria.

Submissions to independent authors or reviewers is done at the risk of the submitter and does not guarantee publication in PhillyHipHop.com by that author or reviewer.

As a professional courtesy, we extend the opportunity to every artist to submit a statement/ response to any review published on our website. The statement/ response will be permanently added to the published review, provided that it is composed in a professional manner.

Artist grants to PhillyHipHop.com the right to use the Performance and Artist's name(s), photographs, portraits, pictures, likeness and biographical material concerning the Performance for the purpose of demonstrating or promoting PhillyHipHop.com products or services.

PhillyHipHop.com reserves the right to modify, delete or add policies without prior notice.

Please include appropriate press information, artist website URL, photo and contact information.

PhillyHipHop.com does not review material submitted on CD-R. Certain exceptions for DJs do apply.

PhillyHipHop.com does review material only available commercial in the vinyl format. In these cases we ask that you include a copy of the music on CD for the convenience of our reviewers (CD-R is acceptable in this situation).

PhillyHipHop.com will not review material that does not include properly formatted, professional quality cover art.

Album covers that include pornographic, racist or objectionable images are not acceptable for our purposes. PhillyHipHop.com maintains sole discretion to determine what constitutes inappropriate images in connection with its website.

To be considered for review we require that your product be commercially available for purchase. This may include brick & mortar retail locations or online music stores other than the artist or label's own website. Be prepared to include a list of outlets that carry your product with your submission.

If submitting pre-released material, please indicate the earliest date that a review can be published - if appropriate.

Submitted material may not be marked to the attention of a specific reviewer. All review assignments will be determined by the editorial staff of PhillyHipHop.com

Depending on our backlog of submissions, be prepared to wait up to six weeks for a response to your submission package. Please do not call our offices about your music - we will notify you by phone or e-mail as soon as we have had a chance to review the material. Everyone who submits a package, will receive some type of response.

Method of review

Each review published is the individual opinion of the reviewer and does not necessarily represent the opinions of PhillyHipHop.com, it's affiliates or staff.

While some reviewers are PhillyHipHop.com staff members, some are independent authors and therefore, the methodology of individual reviewers may vary.

No guarantee can be given as to the publication date of a particular review. Most published reviews are handled in a timely manner and may be determined by reader interest, release date or other criteria deemed appropriate by the editorial staff of PhillyHipHop.com
