They're already enshrined in the Philly Hip Hop Hall
Of Fame, but they just don't stop. These Trenton legends
sound just as fresh today as they did when they decided
to join with Tony D to Rock Dis Funky Joint.
Poor Righteous Teachers possess a bottomless vault
of knowledge that they repeatedly team with beat assaults
to continuously create classic Hip Hop. Incredibly is
ample evidence to substantiate the claim. The verbal
gymnastics that emcee Wise Intelligence spills on this
track from their independently released EP The Meridian
are quite frankly amazing. While you'll immediately
feel the vibe and be inclined to move fluidly about
while listening, you'll have to listen over and over
and over again to absorb the full impact of the condensed
historical correctness and exposing of wickedness espoused
in such a compact and frenetic pace.
Witness lines such as "prophetic, kinetics, apocalyptically
armaggetic, like microchips I'm embedded, deep in this
sh!t forget it" and "take it where I take
it, in and outside of the Matrix, inherently obligated,
to do what you ain't doin', say what you ain't sayin',
loop what you ain't loopin', play what you ain't playin',
Black warriors spit Ebonics... world's Napoleonic so
handle your economics."
With the track record that Poor Righteous Teachers
have established throughout the years, it should come
as no surprise that Incredibly is incredible.
