Although this brother from our own backyard is an international
superstar in sonic experimentation, there are still
throngs of heads who have no clue he is. That's about
to change real soon as Britt releases Adventures In
Lo Fi- his first completely Hip Hop based album from
emerging heavy hitting label BBE.
Right from the start it's all Philly love with Rich
Medina waxing poetic over Planetary Analysis's comfortable
groove. Rich also wraps everything up with his introspective
foray into the Adventures Of Lo Fi. Welcome Bahamadia
turning in her typical phat lyricism on the jazzed,
early 80's R&B track. Next up from the 215 is Grant
Agent displaying his considerable skillz on Stay Free-
a true head knocker for an early spring drive in the
Illadelph. Mixtape makers will enjoy the repetitious
(in a good way) bounce of Caught Out with rapper Capital
A. It's no doubt got that smooth Philly sound to it.
Add their collab Next Plateau to that category. Comin
up north, Pos and Trugoy of De La Soul nail it on Cobbs
Creek (Great Skate remix). Party cut all the way. You
know that stuff playin in the park while oldheads are
manning the grill and kids are running around. And you,
you're just chillin on a bench taking it all in.
Of course there's much more to the album (Dice Raw,
Lady Alma, Miss Saigon, Kai Chi and others) but my observations
to this point should serve the purpose of enticing you
to represent King Britt like he represents us... all
over the world.
