Is there any doubt that this is the hottest song on
the street right now? What We Do shows maturity over
prior efforts and opens up the persona of these previously
two dimensional hustlers.
With What We Do, Freeway, Beanie Sigel and Jay-Z open
up and show a side of them that includes consciousness,
conflict and most importantly, insight into the men
behind the masks. Of course none of this introspection
would be worth ish without bringin' the funk along with
it and there is absolutely no doubt that they bought
in our in force. Freeway's distinctive delivery has
never sounded more commanding or more comfortable and
resonates a truth that makes this record special. This
is arguably the best collaborative effort from this
Roc triumvirate. This is arguably the best Hip Hop record
out right now. Anywhere. Period. You get the feeling
that this is less an aberration and more of an insight
at what's about to come. If What we do is any indication
of what to except from Freeway's upcoming debut album
Philadelphia Freeway, there's gonna be allot of traffic
on its release date
You know that song that gets stuck in your head? The
one you mumble in the shower, on the bus, in the car?
For right now, this is that song.
