Artist: Freeway
Album Title: Philadelphia Freeway

Let's get one thing outta the way right off the bat, whether you like it or not this album is going to catapult Freeway to the elite heights of 2003 Hip Hop. How can he fail on his solo when he's managed to gain major daytime radio play while keeping his respect in the streets and asses moving on the dance floors? Simply stated, Philadelphia Freeway is already looking like an early entry for the 2003 PhillyHipHop.com Award for Album Of The Year.

Of course the album already boasts a bevy of hits, with the already classic Beanie, Jay-Z collabo What We Do leading the way. With St. Lunatic buildin' with the North Philly brother for On My Own it's a safe bet to declare this one another triple triumph. Bangin' beats, catchy hooks and two distinct flows spell hit. H-I-T. Some of y'all ain't gonna be feelin' this cut but don't front on the places it's gonna take Freeway and company. As if that's not enough he partners with Mariah Carey for the hit entitled You Got Me. In the long run this may be the most successful song on the album from an industry standpoint. Just lay back and watch it all come together. Alright this is getting ridiculous now. Enter Snoop Dogg to lend a lil' West Coast flava to We Get Around. Another track, another hit.

Freeway shows off a growing lyricism on the hard knockin' Victim Of The Ghetto with fellow Philadelphian Rell. The mixtapes are gonna be flooded with Free's contribution with Peedi Crakk and it's gritty Philly Gully stylings. Real funk about real life situations. Free makes it work on all levels. Flippin the flow for a hot second Free rides classic R&B smoovness to damn near perfection while Faith Evans does nothing but make it even better on Don't Cross The Line. Nuff said.

I could go on and break down every song on the album but I think I've covered enough to let y'all know that we have another Philly project to be proud of. Put your money where your mouth is. Instead of burning this thing go out to the record store and buy your very own copy of Philadelphia Freeway. Two enthusiastic thumbs up from PhillyHipHop.com.
