It's no secret that EVE is one of the most sought after
females in the game when it comes to guest spots on
other artists cuts. Such is the case with And I Came
To from Styles solid album A Gangsta And A Gentleman.
While EVE spits enthusiastically and turns in her trademark
flows, this one may be better suited for hardcore fans
of Ms. Jeffers than the Hip Hop fan at large. She does
come off with tight lines like "yo, I was determined
to sell, and not just because I'm a bunny with a fluffy
tail, had to prove that I could spit hard and live hard,
it's just a bonus that I'm cute and make your dick hard..."
Styles and Sheek also turn in credible performances
no doubt. The song is solid but not particularly original.
What we have with And I Came To is clearly an
album track crafted to accommodate the extended Ruff
Ryder familia.
The song is simply not a classic or anywhere near wack.
It does have some flow to it and should appeal to the
more than just the Ruff Ryder fans. They unquestionably
put in work and approach this thing with clear professionalism.
My fear is that it may come off as a little too polished
and preconceived to move the masses.
This is intimately a good song. Let's leave it at that.
Y'all get the point.
