With their ful length album Holy Culture set to hit
stores later this month, the New Jeru based crew with
a fanatical international following have blessed the
Hip Hop community with a single that's already creating
quite a buzz. That initial offering is Eternal Cypha.
Cross Movementeers The Ambassador, The Tonic, The Phanatik,
and T.R.U.-L.I.F.E. put in work on this one y'all! The
lyricism is tight. The production is flawless. The instrumentation
is knockin. These brothas know how to hold on tight
and ride a head noddin' beat for all it's worth. While
their sound is clearly their own, you'll detect a lil'
bit of comparitive overtones towards New Jeru compatriates
Naughty By Nature and Poor Righteous Teachers in the
presentation. High praise but praise deservedly earned.
Mixtape DJs would be wise to jump on Eternal Cypha and
its bouncing freshness. With lines like "I spit
bars for the thugs in the cars and the drunks in the
bars and the fakes in the choirs" and "the
streets are embedded with thiefs with speech impediments
who don't believe that that is sin" you know the
bottom line is gotta be nutin' but a good thing.
Two enthusiastic thumbs up for Eternal Cypha. I have
a feeling that Holy Culture is gonna be more ofthe same
Hip Hop hotness. Onward and upward. And if ya don't
know, now you know.
