Imagine the stories Charli Baltimore's Diary could
tell! This Philly sista has been thru madd drama, delays
and devastating losses and somehow manages to keep resurfacing
like Jason. Now that she's found yet another new home
in Murder Inc., she comes off with a grittier edge more
in the mold of the Muder vision.
On Diary, Charli sounds more focused and serious than
in past projects. She sounds as if she realizes that
even cats only have nine lives and her chances are running
out. What Diary shows is a more mature and focused artist.
Charli's delivery is tight and on point without sounding
plastic. Her flow is greatly improved. It wouldn't be
a stretch to suggest that Charli is using the build
up angst inside of her to her own advantage. At the
same time, Chuck B-more isn't the type of rapper who
can carry a track on their vocals alone- a la' KRS-ONE.
She's obviously been smartly teamed up with new production
talent that better compliments her sophisticated B style.
The music gently asks the head to nod and sneaks up
on you with deep water bass.
On the strength of her name and the vibe of the track,
Diary has already made its way onto numerous East Coast
mixtapes and fufill it's role as a buzz creator for
Charli's upcoming album of the same name.
