Although the name and the title caught my attention,
the album didn't hold it. Earbleeders doesn't do anything
to distinguish it from truckloads of other aspiring
artists. There's potential here, it just doesn't come
to fruition on this album.
Earbleeders suffers from monotony. Most of the tracks
are fairly uninspired and lack much originality or imagination...
As an emcee and producer Carl is adequate. Where there
is a bit of head noddin' is on the posse cut EOE featuring
Sin Souljas, Grizz, Physical BKS and Timaro Sadiq. While
this song is nice it isn't the only ray of sunshine
on the album. It's another posse cut, Uprising that
hint at the potential in there. Carl teams up with Dust
II Dust, The Crooked Man, Ranger Rick and L-Unknown.
It comes off like the streets of Philly want it- ruff,
rugged and raw.
Another day, another artist. Nothing to be embarrassed
about but nothing to write home about either. Next please...
