Philly Gully in full effect y'all. If Scratchin &
Survivin from Bugsy, Snake and Mr. Philadelphia
Freeway is any indication of what to expect from the
album it comes from- the soon to be released Streetz
Incorporated, then it's gonna be a hotter than usual
spring season.
Constructed around the vocals tellin' us about scratching
and surviving from the classic Good Times TV theme,
the hook goes toe to toe with the heavy up and down
neck action that the track is destined to inflict on
the listener. Of course having a hot commodity like
Freeway gives the cut instant credibility but that's
not to suggest that Bugsy and Snake don't hold it down
on the verbal tip. They come with the proven and confident
street rhymes that the Philly Gully sound is all about.
In the end this is more about being a rapper than lyrical
acrobatics from serious lyricists but different things
work for different artist.
For Bugsy, Snake and Freeway, Scratchin & Survivin
works and that's all that matters. Recognize. Realize
Represent. Onward and upward for the 215...
