B-Muslim refers to his music as Halal Beats. Everything
he does is in the name of Allah. He proudly asserts
that none of his music includes no string, wind or brass
instruments for the sake of Allah. Music including the
aforementioned instruments is referred to as Haram Music.
One of the best examples of B-Muslim's work is the
simplistic yet effective sound of Real Love. The track
is little more than a break beat lying beneath traditional
Islamic chants but I promise you the two components
work well together. The vocals are soothing and bathe
you in warmth like the sun that jumps through the blinds
on a late summer afternoon. You'll find yourself nodding
your head to Real Love faster than you realize.
Musically speaking, Real Love is an example of the
far reaching and ever changing boundaries of Hip Hop
that keep the genre fresh.
