Illadelph representa and current San Fran resident
Dor comes legit wit' it on So Hardcore. This track serves
as a sparse yet fittingly funky backdrop to compliment
Dor's laid-back flow and cerebral flow that plays matchmaker
to his rhymes. Some of the lyrical highlights include:
"you claim your gat serves more shots than Sam
Malone, got your girl's mouthpiece all up in my bone"
."got
more Shyne than Bad Boy, or a jeweler, straight just
like a ruler, I get Kareem like Abdula, an old schoola'"
and "you your in trouble, I blast all of y'all
like Barney in the ruble, rougher than my face stubble,
you're a waste like the Hubble, I meant what I said
kid there ain't no rebuttal
"
The other half of the Black Lung crew comes with essentially
with the same style as the Dor on Wanna See That, yet
with his own "gruffier" style. One of the
things I like about these brothers is that they know
when they've added enough funk and don't fall into the
rut of trying to overproduce and clog up tracks with
unneeded filler. Manny doesn't attempt to overpower
the groove and wisely rides it with an equally flowing
syncopation. The hook is catchy yet understated.
Why hasn't anyone signed the Black Lung Brothers yet?
Y'all better recognize.
