As the title of the album that Guerilla Monsoon
comes from, this Black Thought, Talib, Pharaoh &
Kayne collab is pure Quality.
This single is easily one of the best songs out for
the holiday season. The success contained within really
comes down to accomplished, articulate emcees seizing
the opportunity to kill a nasty groove that borders
on whiplash mode of the head noddin' function. Black
Thought is hitting on al cylinders as comes off as strong
as ever with spits like "I hit these emcees
with the grip of death like I was a Vulcan, ain't allot
of emcees that are just straight talkin..."
and "I'm in it to win it and not for the wealth,
I got a crib with a Grammy and a gat on the shelf..."
That said, the best line may come from Pharaoh Monch
when he proclaims "spit it like white trash
at seed spittin contest, with a vendetta to send a better
letter bomb to congress..." Rounding out the
trifecta is a simply yet catchy hook that corner boys
to kindergarteners will fall in line with.
As I said previously, all roads to Guerilla Monsoon
lead to Quality.
