The latest in the storied lineage of Philly's L-Nation
movement is AMZ and their blazing 12' inch Das N'
Palmz. This joint is the truth. This song is required
on all future 215 mixtapes for them to be officially
hot. Philly Hip Hop fandom would be much easier if every
crew stepped as tight as these brothers.
Why does AMZ have a hit on their hands? Let's start
with the boombastic production from the unheralded Cat
In Da Hat. This brother (who used to let EVE and Malik
B from The Roots spit in his basement) steps up with
a track that any emcee would be happy to spill on. Then
there's the real live cuttin' & scratchin' courtesy
of the respected DJ Wax Spinner. This is Hop Hop baby!
Oh, damn! I got so caught up in the cut I didn't even
delve into the lyrical aspect of the song. Emcees Dasiem
and Napalm (hence Das N' Palmz) bring vocal gymnastics
to the table with equally forceful, dense, and passionate
flows. Enough reading, listen for yourself:
