In an effort to put some shine on the slept on talent in and around Chester, DJ Ambush has put out a mixtape titled 30 MCS Vol 1. When it comes to the world of mixtapes this is in all reality a concept or novel approach. It's actually not a mixtape at all in the classic sense but rather 30 emcees as the title suggests putting forth their best raps. This is a gritty, dirty around the edges kind of home brew that somehow pulls through.

Some of the emcees are exceptionally talented, some of them are the equivalent of auditory doo doo but being the man he is Ambush gave everyone a chance. Some of the tracks are done over famous Hip Hop songs and breakbeats. Some are spit upon obviously Casio inspired instrumentation. Nonetheless they've all had their shot now. With no track names but simply the names of the thirty emcees listed I'm going to use basketball for analogy's sake. The starting five consists of:

Dominic Trauma as the go to man, Yang Chi, Lucci Ping, StarChild and Legrand. . The sixth man would be Rochy Fadano with Reece Raw, Jon Juan, Byrd Ta Banks (female duo), HK and Cash Collision sittin at the end of the bench waving a towel and bustin' his ass in practice. A few of the cats showed promise in camp and pushed the others hard but simply came up a little bit short.

Hopefully Ambush has upped the ante in Chester. It may rival Camden as one of the poorest cities in the United States but that doesn't apply when it comes to Hip Hop talent. In that area the city is rich. I have a feeling that the competition for Vol 2 in gonna be a whole lot tougher. The talent is there..... it's not like they've never been state champions before.
