Artist: 40th Dimension
Song Title: Zip It

Local underground heroes 40th Dimension return with another twelve inches of Philly funk presenting itself in the form of the boastful bounce of Zip It. The high energy title track on this effort is some strictly straight on attack underground ish. Its nice but the real star here is the un-Marvin Gaye like Let's Get It On. You damn near wait for Mos Def to step into the cut to spit with crew. It's that type of lush, squishy funk. The hypnotic intersection of superb emcee skillz and groovy grooves that create a mellow explosion. Zip It's third track is the originally titled danceable soundscape of Spitsbergen. Another 40th Dimension song, another satisfying result. There really isn't more to say. I haven't heard a 40D cut that I didn't like yet.

The following is a public service announcement to all emcees: Zip It contains instrumentals of all three cuts. This is good news for those wanting to hone their skillz to championship caliber production. And not that it matters musically but from a Hip Hop cultural perspective the cover art is top notch. This is how it should be done, this style is identical to none... Buy it. Bye.
